The App for Commuting

You can find several apps for commuting. We recommend the App "Res i Sthlm" because we think it's the most convenient app. Below, you're guided how to use the App for a journey by Bus/Metro/Tram or by Boat.

Bussar

By Bus/Metro/Tram

You commute by bus/metro/tram by typing in where you go from "Vaxholm" in the field “Från" (from) and where you go to in the field "Till" (to) in the App "Res i Sthlm". You get a timetable with all possible journeys and you can filter away if you, for instance, only want to go by bus. In the timetable you see how long time the journey takes.

When you travel from Resarö by bus, the bus stop's name is "Ytterby". The line number is either 682 or 680. If you go by:

  • 682 you need to switch bus to number 670 at the road-entrance to Resarö at the bus stop "Engarn".

  • 670 goes to the last stop "Tekniska Högskolan". From here, you've a nice 20–30 min walk to the center of the city. You do vice versa going back to Resarö.

  • 680 goes during "rush hours" from "Ytterby" to "Tekniska Högskolan" and vice versa. No need to change at Engarn.

If you want a quicker journey (both 682 or 680) to Stockholm, switch to the the metro at the stop "Danderyds sjukhus". You do vice versa for going out to Resarö.

For all bus/metro/tram lines in Stockholm, you don't need to know the name of the stop. Mostly, you get timetables by only writing the street name from where you are and to the street (or museum) where you want to end up.

By Boat

You commute by boat from Vaxholm to Stockholm by typing "Vaxholm" in the field “Från" (from) and then in the field "Till" (to):

  • "Slussen" if you go to the Old Town, or

  • "Strömkajen", if you want to come even more central into the City (this jetty is next to the Grand Hotel).

In the App, you get selections on both the commuting boat number 83 (click here for all jetties on this line) and the archipelago boats with longer numbers (four digits).

To/from the island Djurgården to/from the Old Town, you use this map with the line number 82 to choose the jetties to type in the fields as above.

To/from the island Djurgården to/from Nybroplan (close to the restaurant Berns, the Shopping in the City Center, and the Hallwyl Museum) you use this map with the line number 80.

To/From Hasseludden (if you want to go to the bath there), you use this map with the line number 83.

In the timetable you see how long time the journey takes.

All commuting boats have the same ticket price as the bus (appr. SEK 40). The archipelago boats is more expensive (appr. SEK 100 SEK) depending on the distance you'll travel. Though, off season the prices for the archipelago boats are the same as for the bus/metro/tram.
