The first day you go to the island Stadsholmen (the City Islet) to discover the Gamla stan (the Old Town). You start off with the beautiful Royal Palace (one of Europe's largest) in the Old Town. Then, you walk around in the Town's narrow and cobblestoned streets and small shops. You can squeeze in a visit the marvellous Stockholm City Hall on the nearby island Kungsholmen (the King's Islet) as well.
During the second day you go to the island Djurgården, opposite the island Stadsholmen with the Old Town, to see the world's best-preserved 17th century ship in the Wasa Museum. Afterwards, if you're an ABBA-fan, go 600 m to the ABBA museum. Otherwise, visit the lovely outdoor museum Skansen opposite the ABBA museum. If you didn't go to the Stockholm City Hall on your first day, you skip the Skansen museum and go to the City Hall.
Congratulations! More days in Stockholm, more possibilities to enjoy its magic. We've listed some museums, shops, and libraries that are well worth a visit. Also, you can add things to do from the cultural activities we highlight for you here.
